- With more than 22 combined years of martial arts study, competition, and instruction, Omoade has demonstrated a commitment to both the absorption and the dissemination of ancient cultural traditions. This commitment has led him across the country and around the world. Omoade studied Kung Fu for more than six years including training in China and choreograping three martial arts films shot in Hong Kong. Currently based in Los Angeles, Omoade is the chief instructor at the Capoeira Angola Center of Los Angeles and has been studying Capoeira for more than 13 years. He is a student of the legendary Mestre João Grande. This study has included learning the songs, traditions, and movements of Capoeira Angola as well as learning to construct the various instruments utilized in the performance of this art. Omoade is also grounded in the African traditions that gave birth to this art form and has been studying Central and West African culture for more than 14 years. He has been teaching Capoeira Angola for more than nine years and has received recognition from the City of Lynwood and the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation for his commitment to teach both young and old the philosophy, values, and traditions of this beautiful African derived art form.
